The Springboks, South Africa’s national rugby team, have confirmed their 2024 Test schedule, which includes 13 matches that cover a mix of Southern Hemisphere Rugby Championship games, European tours, and one-off tests. Their year kicks off on June 22 with a clash against Wales at Twickenham in London. They will then face Ireland twice in South Africa in July, followed by a match against Portugal in Bloemfontein.
The Rugby Championship will see South Africa take on familiar rivals New Zealand, Argentina, and Australia in both home and away games, spanning from August to September. A highlight will be the Boks’ two matches against the All Blacks on South African soil: in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
In November, the Springboks’ tour of Europe includes matches against Scotland at Murrayfield, England at Twickenham, and a final game against Wales in Cardiff. Coach Rassie Erasmus expressed enthusiasm for this challenging lineup, noting that facing top-tier teams like these is crucial for measuring the squad’s progress and resilience, especially as they prepare for the 2025 Rugby World Cup.
